Federal Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Sunday said that Finance Minister Asad Umar will announce a mini budget that is geared towards increasing investments and growth. Commenting on media reports via his Twitter account, he said: It is reassuring to learn from Asad Umar that the upcoming mini budget is geared towards increasing investments and growth and he will announce a three-year roadmap to revive economy. Asad assured that he had enough cushion to settle an IMF package."

Last week, Umar had announced to bring another mini budget in January 2019. "The mini budget is not being brought to generate revenue." Commenting on the conditions by International Monetary Fund, Umar said that the pace and direction of the reforms are more important than IMF conditions.

Fawad said that whatever decisions the finance minister made so far, had nothing to do with the IMF conditions. He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was making a grand strategy to restore Pakistan Steel Mills and Pakistan International Airlines and the plan would come by end of January.
